Am I missing something? How are they both "sponge pudding" when they clearly have different (albeit hilarious names).

K-10 said that the "Spotted Dick" has raisins. Heh.

there is a BRITISH food section? God help us. The four months I spent in England, I did not enjoy the food except for the wonderful chips.

awesome picture, and great meeting you! I hope you make it out to HH.

Waayers - I take my precious camera everywhere! Obviously.

Carrie - Meijer is the SHIT. Seriously the best grocery store anywhere. I love that they have these "ethnic" sections. It was great meeting you, too. I'll try to make it to the HH :)

You have GOT to be kidding me! lol Great picture! I think I'd rather run away from a "Spotted Dick" though, rather than snap a photo....well, maybe to show my friends.

Sugar - I know! Funny thing is, I asked Kristen, my friend in London, about it and she didn't even pause to say, "Oh yeah, bread pudding. Very common here."

Yeah... doesn't sound like the thing I would want to serve at my next dinner party, but I'm not British. So what do I know?

British food is about the taste of the food....not drowning it in spices or like fast food joints in America ....people who complain about English food have never tasted proper food..unless you added spices
