Sparkly

Emily just called.

"I just needed to tell you that I started reading Twilight last night. And I had to force myself to put it down and go to sleep. And that was only because the words were blurry."

Welcome to the dark (yet SPARKLY) side, Em. WELCOME.

"HELLO EMILY.
DO YOU LIKE TO SPARKLE?
BECAUSE I DO THAT SOMETIMES."

em - I know. And I understand your reasoning. I still want to sparkle, though. SPARKLE.

Someone else told me to read it this weekend, too. Weirdness. Is it really that good? Because it sounds silly.

I don't know anything about these books, but your "sparkle" conversation is scaring me.

deals - It sounds totally silly. Completely ridiculous. Nothing that intelligent women should want to read. And yet? It pulls you in.

The writing is pretty subpar and not that impressive, but the storyline is as old as time. I recommend them only if you have about a week to let yourself become obsessed. And can ignore everyone and everything else in your life.

lem - The sparkliness is one of the most absurd things about the books. It's laughable, really. But for some ungodly reason, it doesn't force you to stop reading. It makes you want to throw the book across the room. But even if you do, you stare at it for a bit and then slowly pick it up again.
