Harry Potter!

Best one yet. Amazing. Don't want to reveal ANYTHING, so just go see it. Wow.

That is all.

So I saw it for a second time and I was a little underwhelmed. Good, but not great. Very little was explained. I understand that it's to a point where the movie makers just have to assume that the members of their audience have read the books, but there were some things that confused me, and I consider myself to be in the know of all that is Harry Potter knowledge.

Whatever. See it for yourself. Let me know!

I thought they took a few too many liberties with the screenplay when trying to compress it down to acceptable movie fare. The sort of cheapened Harry's angst and struggle by removing so much from around it. Part of the time I felt like I was watching a highlight video instead of a movie.

john - exactly. I liked the newspaper thing the first time, but upon a second viewing, I thought that it was a cheap way to cram in info.

At the same time, I thought that the effects were amazing and the acting is just getting better and better. Especially with the three leads.

there was definitely an overwhelming amount of montages to get a bunch of info in at once. but i think the liberties they took were more acceptable in this one compared to previous movies though. like having cho give up the DA via veritaserum...i could go on board with that /c it got the point across. however, CHO seemed totally superfluous. they didn't develop shit with the characters, besides harry, sirius and sorta dumbledore. and that was a shame. but overall, i liked it a lot. best of the last three at least.

carrie - yes. Too many montages! And I know that this book was more about the kids, but this cast -- some of the most talented adult actors in the world (Snape, Sirius, McGonagall, Lupin, Voldemort) -- were BARELY in the damn movie.
