I want to know which genius thought
that this picture was a good idea:

    While I think showing some pants would have been nice, he is imitating Spitz's SI cover when he won 7 gold medals.

    anony - Ohhhhhh. Well, that makes sense. I still think that it looks strange, but I like that they're honoring Spitz in a way, too. SI didn't mention that (as far as I found), and I wish that they had.

    (I was years from even being born when Spitz won his seven. So that's my excuse there.)
